Hailstone Mastiffs

Welcome to Hailstone Mastiffs.  Our love of this magnificent breed started in 1992 when we met our first Mastiffs at a local dog show.  From that moment on, our love and obsession with this breed has grown.  Since then, we have been active in rescue, health, and showing in conformation.  Please visit our page that is dedicated to our Mastiffs that wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge.

It is our hope at Hailstone Mastiffs that everyone who visits this page will find it useful and encourage the breeding of healthy, long-lived mastiffs in which to share our lives.  I am a member of the Mastiff Club of America, serve as the Co-Chair for the MCOA Health Committee, the Chair of the Cancer Committee and a member of the DNA Committee.  I am committed to the free and open sharing of testing and health information for our breed.  I am also a member of the Downey Obedience Dog Obedience Group  and the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen Club of America.

I am not a breeder, one thing that I learned about this breed is that the art of breeding is fraught with difficulties and heartbreaking decisions.  Breeding should not be undertaken without a great deal of knowledge and experience in the breed.  This is something I have decided to leave to those who have the time and dedication to devote to it.  On my links page, there are several breeders that I admire and can recommend.  Please visit our parent breed club website for Mastiff Club of America and read the code of ethics that members agree to adhere to when breeding mastiffs.  Also read the article about questions you should ask any breeder.
